What a timely post for us. I'm 47, my wife is 52. You can see in the links in my sig that we have been grabbing life by the horns these last 5 years. Fairly proud of that as an accomplished goal.
In the last few weeks, a new idea has hit us. We love off-road exploring, however, with our truck and travel trailer, we have no way to tow an off road vehicle. This got us thinking about a motor-home. Our retirement plan was likely a large Class C. Always thought we'd buy it around age 60 (when we also downsize our house). But with these new thoughts, I proposed why not buy it 10 years early? Buy it now and we use it for 20 years and experience it with our kids. Buy it at retirement and we use it for 10. My lineage indicates I likely will expire in my early 70's.
It's easy to justify. Fact is, we are having the RV experience already, and its paid for. I don't know...am I just wanting a shiny new toy?
