Sounds like you have a relationship with this shop, sounds like they just want to go over the brakes, and maybe some other items that need attention now or later.
The Beaver is 17 yrs. old so you might need to eyeball the air bags and suspension parts/bushings. Staying on top of maintenance will prevent a break-down 95% of the time (hopefully).
