Door won't close without slamming it

If it is like mine, door latches onto to what is called a "shoulder bolt" or "striker bolt". I was able to loosen and play with mine to get good fit. I pulled it out just a little, maybe 3 mil's and made a world of difference closing the door.

But # 1 rule is don't slam the door (entrance or frig/freezer)

Before you do that double check don't have something holding up the door from closing right, Loose screw, chip of wood etc.

Spray the heck out of the door latch mech with WD-40 and then lube it with something like 3-in-one oil..

It'll then close like "butter"... ;)

And if it doesn't.... It might need some adjustment...

When my trailer was brand new, the door would not close without pulling the handle when you closed it... Lived with that for about 3 years before I did the oil thing and it's been closing normally ever since! That was about 9 years ago too.. :)

What door are you having trouble with? RV, Pickup, Stick house, other?

is this the entrance door?if so check the screen door screws and handle adjustment
