solutions for slamming door??

Not to end up in jail or with child protection visiting anyone, but the sight of the switch from the #@$%×÷=$ willow tree out back of the house, sitting next to the front door was a great deterrent to anything that I might think of getting away with when I was younger. Once I figured things out, "stupid means wounded" I became a pretty respectable kid! Lol. I thought I was saved the day the neighbor called the deputy when I climbed that willow tree to get away from grandad. The deputy talked me down and assured me that everything would be okay. Then he smiled at grandad, got in his police car and drove away. I hated the popo for a while after that!

The RV that we have has a strut that actually opens the door and since it pushes the door open you can not slam-it, this are the same struts that are used to hold hoods and rear hatces on cars, they are also used on RVs to hold the cargo bin doors open.

If you use theis method you need to reinforce the area where the strut attaches to the door and the side of the RV and make shure that the hard ware is strong.

I have a 2014 Grand Design Solitude. It has what they called a friction hinge on the door. It holds it in any position. Even in mild winds it holds it where you leave it pretty well.

That link I posted to the closer really doesn't solve the problem after I thought about it....it closes the door but doesn't keep someone from being able to slam it shut.

Perhaps a sign on the door, posted at kid eye-level that says, "Please close the door softly! Thank you very much."?
