DOT CODE WITH LETTERS
I just looked at a friend's trailer and the DOT code was R2NN. I AM only familiar with the numeral week/year code.

Frequently if the tire has the date code only on one side of the tire , tire jockeys and tire shops will turn that tire to the inside of the wheel.
