I got picked apart about a week ago when I posted this, and will probably get picked apart again. But I don't sanitize. I sanitized when the trailer was brand new and never again. But, I stumbled into something I shared once before.
When I remodeled our house, I did some extra plumbing and plumbed a connection for a garden hose near our washing machine outlets. The house is plumed with a whole house Kenetico Water Filter system. But the faucets on the outside of the house are not.
I plumbed the hot side of the faucet for our Hot Tub. We no longer have the hot tub, but I found out the filtered water that has gone through the Kenetico system is much kinder to the camper, no rust stains, and no funky odors. BUT! It's HOT water! Like .... scalding hot! So, I stretch a hose and fill the fresh water tank. We use the camper at home a lot! Always keep water in the tank and always keep the water heater going. Sleep in it every night, take showers in the morning before work.
Well, that HOT water sanitizes everything! No chlorine, no after taste, no nothing. It does a whip-stitch of a job too!
I'll probably get nit-picked again for mentioning this, but as far as using "chemicals???" Well, maybe the older I get the more "green" I'm becoming!
Just an FYI and an after thought reading this thread.
