Living on the Navajo Reservation (Four Corners area) the water had so much sulfur in it that it would permanently stain ceramic dishware. Drank it anyway and never got sick from it. However my wife once developed diarrhea and blamed it on the campground water. Since then we go stocked with water from home. My opinion on the matter was considered irrelevant.
