Dripping noise in bathroom???

Late at night when all is completely quiet I can hear a slow drip...drip...drip noise coming from the bathroom. There are no puddles anywhere and all sink and toilet lines and connections are dry. Sounds like its dripping into water. It seems to happen after flushing the toilet so am thinking its the toilet bowl flap not sealing and dripping water from the bowl into the black tank. However, it only drips for about 20-30 minutes after flushing then stops. The bowl still has water in it. Any ideas?

Does it only tell its secrets at night ? Or is it so nobody sees you snuggling up to the throne? LOL, sorry couldn't resist!
  • My shower head will drip slightly if the hot water faucet isn't turned off tightly enough. Since the shower is right next to the bed it can be annoying. Needs a new O-ring, no doubt.
  • My drip sound is the battery operated clock we have in the bathroom. I always think I'm hearing water drip and then realize it's the clock.

  • I agree, sounds like toilet bowl leaking. Does it hold water for long periods? That would be your clue.

Get a stiff toilet brush, hold the valve open and scrub around the opening to clean the slot the valve slides in. YOu can also get a product at Camping World that you allow to sit in the bowl and it softens the seal.
  • YES.......

Your toilet but it isn't the seal allowing water to drip (water would disappear).
It's the toilet water valve not fully closing and is dripping water into bowl until it fully seats.

New rig....so there maybe some debris in water valve, valve could be defective, ball valve return mechanism slightly binding.
