- rk911Explorersame thng in illinois. strict interpretation could result in enough tickets to erase the deficit in illinois if this is enforced during rush hours.
- jplante4Explorer IIUniversally not enforced. Worse driver habit after texting.
- ScottGNomadSame thing here but people do it with impunity all the time.

FL law will now ticket you for not getting out of the left lane.
It will never happen. - GordonThreeExplorerLet's hope they enforce the speed limit as enthusiastically. If folks weren't in such a hurry thinking the speed limit only applies to other people, the left lane wouldn't be so congested.
- azdryheatExplorerMany times there is far too much traffic for one lane. When driving between Tucson and Phoenix traffic has to be in both lanes, no way that much traffic could fit in a single file.
I think driver's should be able to choose their lane, after all, they're paying road taxes for all of the lanes. If someone is holding up traffic in one of the lanes then they should be dealt with rather than banning everyone from a lane. - Iraqvet05ExplorerColorado enforces their left lane law.

The law in Washington has been on the books for over 25 years!
I got pulled over about 24 years ago, for driving in the left lane of I 90 near Ritsville (just me and 2 WSP officers in sight). The right lane was very rough, got off with a warning! - d3500ramExplorer III

I have not found that to be true, especially in the mountains. Not doubting you, but many automobiles will drive in the left lane because the right lane is so chewed up from the truckers running chains in the winter. It can be really bad when the left lane is so much smoother.
Too bad those who drive in the left for the better road surface do not pull aside for those in haste and then return back. - old_guyExplorerthe right lane is very rough since it is the lane that trucks run in and wear down the pavement faster. I have tennitis and the right lane drives me up a wall, it is worse then the ringing in my ears. so yes I do drive in the left lane and pull over when I see someone driving faster then I am so they can pass. I also pull over to the right every couple of miles so it at least looks like I'm trying to be lawful. now this driving in the left lane is done while driving my car not when I am towing
