I have mixed feelings on them and agree there needs to be some area and altitude restrictions, possibly software enforced. However as far as restricting purchase and registering them for security reasons I don't know. If you want to bring down an airplane you open up on it with a bunch of AR15's or other widely available weapons, and any 6 toed, four eyed banjo pickin numpty can buy a dozen of them and 10,000 rounds of ammunition with no questions asked.
