Don't forget, after a vehicle has been severely damaged and repaired, even though it looks like new or better than new, it is worth less than one that has never been wrecked. You can also go after that dollar amount. Someday you will want to sell it and one of the first questions will be, has it ever been in an accident. Or, you might try getting it fixed and selling it now, and demanding the difference that it would have sold for had there been no damage. You might need to talk to someone with knowledge in this area as to what is best.
Funny, 5 minutes ago I was talking to a good friend, a car salesman, who told me that exact same thing!
