Well, the shop located used parts, especially the bed - I nearly blew my coffee out my nose when he told me $3500. for a used bed!! Gads!
They got the costing done and have presented it to ICBC for approval.
It came in at 18 grand including the box.
I asked about it being totaled or not. Apparently they have a computer program they enter all the data into - Parts, labor and all that. Somehow this program has an assessment of the actual vehicle value and if the repair cost comes to within a certain amount of the value, it flags the repair sheet with a total loss message. Whew.. elaborate.
Anyhow the bodyshop manager said that it did not get flagged as a writeoff.
I should know soon, likely tomorrow if its a fix it or a total it.
