Dual AC Placement

Went today looking at some new toy haulers. One model we really liked but couldn't quite come to terms with the dealer. No problem because we're just getting started shopping.

But it had something that I thought was odd but it may just be a common thing these days. It had two AC units but they were placed over the bedroom up front and the garage. There was no AC over the living room. This is not what I'm used to seeing and I worried it may not cool the living area enough. I know its ducted to the living room but that still seemed unusual. Obviously, we couldn't ever open up the vent on the AC unit to "quick cool" the living room area.

Am I worried about nothing? Anyone else have a set-up like this?

  • One of the points to ducted ac is doesn't matter where the units are located, just like your house. Our unit has a basement ac so it obviously isn't located over any room.

That does not mean it is ducted well and you may very well want to see how fast it will cool down on a hot day.
  • I think I'd keep looking. That just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
