LP is not more cost effective.Gas has more BTU's per gallon vs. LP and is more efficient.
LP is cleaner and doesn't cause the ethanol storage issues and gumming issues that are common with all small portable gas engines.
Gas requires carrying and storing a gas can vs. LP which is already on board and maybe easier to transport.
For the record I have a built in LP genset and prefer the convenience and reliability of LP vs. gas .
However gas is more efficient and if you are able to deal with the transport issues and storage issue gas maybe the way to go.
Electric start is a bigger issue than remote start. PUlling a cord vs.electric start is the real issue.
As long as you or your DW do not need to pull a cord, starting is not a big deal.
Sure you may need to walk out to the genset to press a button or turn the key but that is not the deal breaker vs. how you plan to transport fuel and store fuel when not using the genset. Storing gasoline is a bigger issue than storing LP.
