Dude is hauling a$$

We're on 81 northbound in West Virginia in the wife's car doing 80. Guy towing a travel trailer flew past us like we were standing still! Hate to be him when those tires blow!

  • Why do people think when a tire blows it will put you in a ditch or shake you like a rag doll? :h

I've only blown one tire in my life on a trailer. It was no doubt a low pressure situation and by the time I got the rig stopped there was nothing but two little rubber rings on the rim.

The only reason I knew something was wrong was a slight and I do mean SLIGHT vibration in the steering wheel. I looked in my mirror and saw the rubber coming off.

No big deal; no crazy event; nothing really but a rim with no rubber on it.

Judging from the amount of people I see towing a trailer that way it's no big deal to them either. They don't even know they are towing a trailer with 3 tires!
  • Yep, if you're going to be speeding get some LT's on your trailer. They've got the same chance of blowing as the tires on your truck.

And when it happens, it won't be his fault. We all know how that works, the Blame Game. :S

And that is exactly what the salesman that sold him the TT said to him. :(

  • He probably upgraded to LT tires, they're good for at least 108mph ya know!
  • Ditto and did come up on the debris field his tires left about 5 or so miles later

He was on the side of the road, about 30 feet off pavement

Fiver had body damage and both tires still on the fiver and debris on pavement were
    smoking

Crowded with folks going home after a 3 day weekend just north of Sacramento Calif

He was passing folks on the right side and his Fiver swayed each time he cut back
into the fast lane (4 lane highway 99, 2 lanes each side)

Saw him coming in the mirror and what made me notice was seeing just the top of
his Fiver above traffic was moving lane to lane. I pulled over even more and
almost touched the dirt shoulder trying to give this moron more room to pass me
    towing a 8K utility trailer

Do not know how many tires blew, but more than two from the amount of debris and
the length of that debris field...guessing just short of a mile. There
were several cars and trailers also stopped on the shoulder and am
guessing they got rubber debris tossed into their TV's and cars. Couldn't
see any major damage to anyone else

Was doing around 65MPH and Calif tow speed limit is 55 MPH...he blew
past me as if standing still. Guessing he was north of 85MPH

Didn't stop because there were over a dozen or so vehicles stopped
    around that moron

Extremely lucky for him and folks around him
