There is a screw (or 2) where the awning roller meets the arm. Removing the screw allows the piece inside the awning arm to roll free and you can roll the awning up manually. The only catch here is that this will twist the wiring inside that arm and you will have to rewire it. Once the awning is rolled up you need to put the screws back in or the awning will unroll.
