I call it rude. Whether it's clean water or not. I guess no different if I take a bottle of water and let it hang out the window and let it go. No, more than likely it will not hurt the vehicles, but it's just plain rude. Pump it into your black or gray tanks and dump it all at the dump station on your way out. Or as others mentioned, take it home and drain it onto your driveway or water your grass with it.
How to you feel about people who's windshield washer are misaligned and spray over the roof of their car and onto the vehicle behind them?
I can see them doing that. And it's only a one time mist. Not a full on shower. Drivers can not tell what is leaking underneath your camper. How would you feel if someone dumped their gray water like that in front of you? After all, it's just water from the sink and shower. Won't hurt anything, right?
I obviously cannot speak for all the RVs out there, but the drain water flow from my low point drain is such that it would be difficult to even create a mist on the roadway at highway speeds. I've opened my drain numerous time when returning from boondocking. Once at highway speed, you cannot detect any amount of water coming off the roadway or RV. The only way to see any trace of water is to walk along the curb side the RV while stopped and look directly at the LPD. In fact, it takes me nearly the entire 40 minute ride home to drain the 35+ gallons of water in the fresh tank. So I think the concern on here regarding comments that the water could be from the black or grey tanks, while probably justified if the fresh water drain outlet is 3" or greater, is not much of a concern at .25" ID water line flow. Again, I think some on here are making a little too much ado about nothing.
