I'll admit that I was astonished last weekend - we were camping at a Michigan State Park, we had just eaten dinner and I was looking for a place to wash dishes. I asked the campground host, who laughed and said "wash them at your site!"
This was our first campout without holding tanks; plus we had 3 other families in tents or a popup trailer. I was stunned, thinking of how much "gunk" would get dumped on our sites just in a long weekend; and this park had LOTS of tenters. We dumped the dishpans into the "woodsy" part of the sites; but by the second day, bees and flies were gathering there.....
