In five years with 450 days on the road, I have never seen a line of 10-12 campers waiting on the poop shoot. Sounds like an eastern state tradition.

I have seen even more than 10-12 at Brown County State Park in Indiana.
Between all of the loops, the horsemen's camp, and the rally sites, there are close to 700 sites and the park is sold out on many weekends, including every fall weekend.
The dump station at the front of the campground has one hole for each direction. If you stay in the front loop like we do, you can usually get in and out fairly quickly, maybe just waiting on one or two rigs, because you are using the "southbound" side.
If you stay in the back loops, which have the majority of the sites, you are stuck waiting in line for the "northbound" side of the dump station. Waits of an hour or more can happen.
We just take an extra day off work and leave on Monday. Not only does it cut down on dump lines, the park is very nice on Sunday evening when most people have left.
