Pulling thru and using a full hookup site as a dump station potentially a full black tank and a full grey tank every 15 minutes. Huge difference.
FHU sites.....IF FULLY Occupied then ALL those RVs use the sewer at site while parked next to each other DUH!
FHU SItes....not occupied and someone pulls in & dumps
What difference is there :H
A whole lot of 'Who Shot John' going on in this thread.

That doesn't matter. What matters is I might have to wait 10 minutes, or god forbid 20 or 30 in line at the dump station. Why should "I" have to wait? People amaze me.
Just this weekend we had a couple show up late and take an undeveloped site in a class C using an honor system envelope. We had over 50 - 30 amp, and a few 50 amp electric only sites, vacant. Daytime highs were in the 90's. The site they chose had tenter's on both sides and another directly across the loop road. They thought they were going to run the onboard genny all night so they could run the AC, until one of the tenter's came and woke me up around 1:30 AM, and I had to make the trek up there. The guy got smart over it even though I offered to let him move to an electric site gratis. The rules did not apply to this couple. That was when I mentioned that I would go get my radio, call the on duty ranger, and have him come up and discuss it. He finally got the hint. IMO the only reason they took the undeveloped site to begin with was it was $6.50 cheaper than the electric site. I would bet those folks would have been more than happy to pull into a full hookup site and use it as a dump station no matter who or what they disturbed.
What are we actually talking about here? One out of 10-20 campers seeing a long line at a dump station and choosing to use a FHU site instead? Not everyone choosing to do that, just a few here and there. Some of y'all are making it sound like an "either/or" kinda deal. Just because one guy does, this doesn't mean the whole campground swings over and does it too. And just because someone does, this doesn't mean that an entire campground will come over next to you while you're trying to relax and dump 10 feet away from you. Quite honestly, I've never even thought of doing this...until I read this thread. Now I'm going to keep it in the back of my mind next time I see a long line at the dump station.
Also, don't put out pictures of one particular campground and point out the nice, pristine dump station and suggest that people should just be more patient. I'd say that about half of the dump stations I go to (mainly state parks) are nothing more than a dirt/gravel pull-thru area with a small (I mean small) concrete pad around the dump drain, just enough to keep someone from running over it. No pavement, no containment...what falls on the ground stays there until it dries up or the rain washes it away or is soaks into the dirt.
And this isn't about people just being impatient. Ever try to leave a campground at the end of the weekend when everyone else is doing the same...and the dump station is on the road headed out? I've been stuck behind people who are trying to dump when I myself don't have to dump. But you can't go anywhere because of the line. Now I'm just one more rig clogging up the road, and very unnecessarily.
3"-4" pipe can handle 100% full flow from an RV 24/7. It all flows to the same place.
I say that if there are no expressed rules against pulling into an empty site and dumping, then go for it. Holy cow, the dang drama on here.
