This is from a wife who drives occasionally. When we got our TT, it was my intent to occasionally camp on my own or with girlfriends and in order to do so, I had to learn how to drive with the TT attached. My first few trips would be to just go around the block a few times to become comfortable with actually pulling the TT, then I would venture to say the gas station and each time just a little bit farther. And finally last year, DH said it was time I drove the entire way for a long wkend trip - 4 hrs worth through a 10 mile section of construction where the freeway was down to one lane. That was a white knuckle drive - but I did it and my confidence grew! DH was encouraging, never said a harsh word and kept quiet when needed to. The next step is to learn how to back it up now.
I now have a few weekend girly trips planned for this year and it feels good knowing that I can do this without my DH. I would strongly encourage every wife/significant other to at least learn how to drive/pull your home away from home. If nothing else, your DH will have some comfort knowing that he can depend on you in an emergency should you ever have to drive.
Just my 2 cents.
