I tried using the Zerk fitting to replace the grease on my current trailer once. Don't know what I did wrong but after carefully pumping in until new grease came out, then wiping the cup clean and replacing the cap, I got grease on the wheels periodically through the summer. In a way it makes sense that you could replace the grease this way once a year and save time, maybe money. Unfortunately that's not what the manufacturer says to do.
