Now two folks have mentioned putting in dry bearings and both of those folks COMPLETELY MISSED what was being shown in that pic and is what to be honest really IRKS me since it completely drives topics off into the weeds. The point of installing a dry bearing shown in the pic was to demonstrate how much a couple of pumps on a grease gun puts new grease into a bearing. If the two gents that COMPLETELY MISSED THIS CRITICAL POINT would have taken time to carefully read and understand what was being shown would have easily not come to the WRONG CONCLUSION. It was a demonstration of how the E-Z lube axles actually function and NOT HOW TO SERVICE OR MAINTAIN a bearing. I even mentioned using the old grease seal ... something IS A BIG NO NO, but neither of these gents mentioned that poor maintenance practice along with someone actually installing a dry bearing ... SIMPLY AMAZING IMO. See this complete misreading of what is being shown are explained is why so much misinformation, etc. is out there.
Also, now folks are some how implying that I'm saying that the E-Z lube systems doesn't work and I NEVER SAID THAT, my comments were all in a dissenting view that these axles SAVE TIME AND $$$ which again I say HOGWASH. Folks are also now mixing in boat trailers which most don't have brakes so over greasing is not an issue and somehow introducing them into the conversation only confuses the issue and for the life of me can't understand why one would do that except for a lack of knowledge and understanding of the differences in what is required/needed between boat and TTs:S It you're going to completely service and inspect your brakes and bearings say every 3 years then using the E-Z lube yearly won't hurt anything, but again I contend it is not significantly if at all helping and hence only contributes to my contention that they DO NOT SAVE TIME or $$$ which is all that I was addressing in all my comments.
Finally I'm not trying to change anyones mind that has already made theirs up since that's futile ... I can only present the facts and let those willing to take the time to give them a FAIR READ come to a more sound and considered opinion/belief than blindly accepting unsubstantiated statements that IMO are clearly as I still call HOGWASH as somehow factual and true.
