I have ez lube & don't use them; I do it by hand every year. I don't see how the grease would get to the outer bearing if you didn't fill the entire hub with grease. The hole on mine is back by the inner bearing & the only way to freshen up the outer bearing is about 10 tubes of grease! YMMV.
