I pour several gallons of antifreeze in the fresh tank and turn on the pump until all faucets, shower and toilet run pink. Yes it takes a couple of more gallons but at only 6 bucks a gallon it is worth the small amount of extra money to be able to winterize in minutes without all the fuss.
Been winterizing my MH for 6 years now while sitting in the deep freeze of Wisconsin. And you won't see a post from me about leaks and damage the following spring. Actually you won't see me post about winterizing any more either.....Florida. :C
And no the water does not taste like antifreeze because it's put in the fresh tank. It takes the SAME amount of flushing come spring to clear it out as when you pump it thru the same lines from the outlet. And my pump is fully winterized by doing it this way also.
Although this may work for you and your MH I wouldn't recommend it for everyone. The pink is used to void water from the system so depending on the fresh water tank design you may or may not have been successful at voiding the water.
