I have come across this 'numerous' times at the Flying J every year almost at least once a month.
Don't know about lately because I quit using Flying J because of this AND the propane service located within a fuel isle that is used from both ends. THAT alone will get you stuck in there for hours with
RV'ers coming from both directions, fighting and blocking all the pumps doing so.
It takes 10 times longer to get in and out of a Flying J than it does a plain ole gas station along side the interstate. I choose the later exclusively now.
It must be because the FJ sign says RV Friendly and the newbies take that to mean that the spot you use to fuel up at is to be used like a CG site and also a place to park while you shop inside for tourist trinkets.
