Those that don't think they have them because they never come up the toilet should get a clear inspection dump pipe.
Insecticide kills them off, but you need a spray that fogs, and that ain't Wasp Spray. Thats a solid liquid stream that doesn't fog. A cheap can of flying insect killer is what's needed.
This was never a problem when we used to use PineSol, but it cavitates the macerator pump (foam) :(
