Bike Conversions This is the company I used back in 2007 to electrify my basic Schwinn mountain bike. I'm happy to report that all these years later I'm still using that electric conversion on my bike for daily bike commuting. I have nearly 35,000 miles on the one motor. I'm on my 4th battery now. One failed under warranty. Two just wore out. My latest battery is 48 volt lithium polymer ($600) and has been running for 3 years now with no signs of degradation. I commute 34 miles a day, year round regardless of the weather. It's 17 miles down hill to work and 17 miles uphill to home. My commute time is 50 minutes each way, and my bike will go up to 32mph before the governor limits it. I have saved untold thousands in fuel bills over the years, plus I'm fairly healthy, though I am a big guy at 250lbs. It is a huge investment, and you'll not likely see a payback if all you do is ride around a camp ground, but for daily commuting the savings are huge and what would be an hour and a half ride home I now do in just under one hour. All the best with your search. Hans
