Electric brake assembly

OK this may sound stupid. Kind of does to me.
But here we go any way. Is there any way a dog could get a spring off the brake assembly. I mean, aren't they inside the hub, covered?

Reason I ask. One of the puppies had a spring carrying it around. I have no idea where she could have gotten it. Looks like a automotive type spring. As far as I know. there are no springs like that exposed on the TT, and that is the only thing back there that would have any springs

  • Drum brake springs are far too strong for any dog to ever get off an assembly, unless the assembly has broken and is shedding parts.
  • Now I know where it came from. It was one of the springs that held the step cover / rug in place
  • Thanks guys. Makes me feel better. I didn't think so.
Don't know what it could be from. Not a heavy duty spring. Nothing else mechanical back there but the TT.
  • No way on the brake spring. Probably picked up a discarded part.
Some leveling needs springs to retract but not usually steps or anything.
Picture would help identify the spring.
  • NO...

    They are inside brake assembly.
Brake drum would have to be removed to gain access

Maybe from an OLD brake job years past :H
