If your camping along the gulf coast gas is prefered over electric because the salt air will destroy an electric one.
? We bought a rental from Ocean Lakes at Myrtle Beach. Granted, Myrtle Beach is not on the Gulf coast, it is on the Atlantic Coast. When we bought it, it was 6 yrs old. Not an issue with it or salt air. - fla-gypsyExplorerIn Florida State parks only electric carts are allowed and they must meet safety criteria (street legal)
- rockhillmanorExplorer IIThat all said I will also add that the OP travel and stay at CG's that allow golf carts before buying one.
I will no longer stay at CG's that allow golf carts.
It's been said before that the bad ruin it for the good and when it comes to CG's with golf carts well the shoe fits.
What I came across was CG parents that let get up in the morning and boot their kids outside and on the golf carts and let them drive adnausiem around and around the CG with total disregard to cars and RV's using the roads inside. And the older the kids the worse it got. :(
Maybe a 55+ CG would be fine with golf carts but from what I have seen at regular SG's I just choose not stay at a CG that allows them. - mowermechExplorerIn some areas the cart must be "street legal", titled, registered, and have a license plate to be operated on any public road.
Insurance may also be required. - Water-BugExplorer II

But salt air also destroys a gas one. Salt air destroys everything. - PA12DRVRExplorer

why not tax credits for RVs? musical instruments? airplanes (I'd like that one)? other recreational equipment?
Me too on the airplane tax credit. - ckwizard777ExplorerIf your camping along the gulf coast gas is prefered over electric because the salt air will destroy an electric one.
- garymunsonExplorerThe tax credit is only on automobiles and is based on battery size.

I think the old tax credit was for street legal ones. You could hear the whooping and hollering from all the people in the Villages in Florida at the time! Where every retired resident had 2 per family.
Where the parking spaces everywhere are for golf carts only and the Walmart has 4 rows upfront just for golf cart parking.:R
I full time and in my travels most CG's do not allow golf carts. The long term RV resorts usually do allow them. So research where you are going to be traveling and staying before investing in one. - FunnyCamperExplorer II

electric is your safest bet to be able to use it.
I wouldn't say most. Maybe a regional thing. Some do some don't. Likewise some don't allow any. Some will only allow if street legal, licensed and insured.
yes could be my location in the southeast. almost impossible to find any cg in my area that allows gas. best for one to check their locations to know the best way to purchase.
