We camp most weekends from now til november, often just for 1 night. We always empty the black tank before parking it for the week, but I was wondering if that's really necessary? We fill the tank ...

I 'rinse' my black tank with water, from the fresh tank via a long flush when I dump it. Use buckets of water dumped down the toilet if the water pump is off. Then, I dump a 5 gallon bucket of water with bleach and water softener into the black tank, to slosh around on the ride home. I know you might think you're going camping next Saturday, but sometimes life gets in the way, and the RV has to sit for a prolonged period of time. You don't want it to sit with a nasty black tank.
