Depends upon how big your tank is. For us, regardless of how much it's been used, we always dump before returning home. I want my camper clean, ready for the next use. You never know what may happen in the future that may prevent you from cleaning it out. So when camping, I always dump once a day anyway. If not on full hook-ups, I use my Blue Tote. My current camper has only a 25 gallon black tank.
