en the hook up Bracket. Is that how it is?

When I bought my trailer at the dealership the mechanic said just hand tighten the hook up Bracket. He said the hook up brackets will not migrate or move around the A frame or tongue during towing because the chains and the Spring bars would pull it down in place

Is that how it is?

  • IF we are talking about Reece with bolt on snap up brackets....then Tighten it to 50 ft/lbs.
  • maybe im not understanding what we are talking about but my reese says to pilor drill and use self taping bolts?
  • A neighbor kept having problems with her brackets coming loose as she tried to latch the spring bars. I tightened the brackets with a wrench and all was OK.
  • Tighten it down. It won't hurt anything, but not doing so could hurt everything. Tighten the nuts/bolts Don't take chances.
