The O2Cool runs a surprising amount of time on those 8 D cells. One lasted me a season of January-April camping where I always had to have air moving on me in the bedroom of my TT.
I'd probably see about a tub of rechargeable D-cells, so I could have eight in the fan, and when on hookups, the rest charging.
I also use the smaller, 2 D-cell version. It doesn't put out much air, but it does help.
