Equalizer Hitch - Love it when a plan comes together!

So no pics of the setup cause it got dark out. But I decided to swap out my 1,000lb Eaz-Lift weight distribution hitch w/ sway bars with an Equalizer 1,000 (had it on my old camper).

In the end was able to restore my front axle height back to pre-loaded height, camper is sitting with 1/2" level and the rear of the truck is only squatting 1". Love it when everything is dialed in. With the Eaz-lift it was tounge down, which granted was because I didn't take the time to dial it in. But the compression slider for sway control never seemed like it worked that well.

Once I get it out of storage and on a good level road I will try and get some pics to make sure it looks level.

  • I have never had a plan come together but imagine it would be great if it did :-)
  • Yup. Love ours. Weight distribution can be achieved easily, but for integrated WD/Sway control the equal-I-zer is great. Only caveat is that it has to be greased often, or it gets loud.
  • We recently sold our W&P toy hauler and went back to a 5er. But I used Equalizers on both the W&P and the Sabre TT long before that. When set up properly, it is truly a great hitch.
