Yes and that was the purpose of my poor service post on the CW service and installation forum. Even with equalizer's instructions that the ball was wrong, they did the same thing with the new one. It is now fixed at my expense from a different dealer
Sorry to hear some can't follow instructions. I ordered the Equalizer ball off Amazon when I ordered my hitch so I would not have any issues and I knew it would be good quality.
