You are more than likely going to injure yourself if you make an escape heading out of an escape window, small or large(the windows). I'll take that over the alternative. Think about your escape path. The prop rod is a great idea but my body pushing through the hatch is all i will need. Know where you are going to land. Don't bail out thinking a quick bounce on the pad will hurt just a little when you land on your campsite pedestal. If you have a fire and you are cut off from your door you will have no idea where that prop rod is....you are going to get that window open and be gone. We're talking seconds. I have sat and stared at the tiny bedroom escape window. Yea, wife and I will fit through it but there is no rolling over the side and dropping out as you hang on to the edge. It's head first or feet first and body dragging over the sill and over 5 feet to the ground. It's a great video that makes you think. I would have never thought of the blanket to protect the edge from scraping all my skin off!
