This is why we bought a TT with a front and a rear door. My parents loss their Trotwood TT in '68 to a fire, after that they bought a Holiday Rambler with two doors so if they are sleeping they can escape right out the door.
We do use the lock on the inside, never lock it with a key outside.
One other thing we always do when we travel. We pack a bag of essentials for a couple of days.
Travel size toothpaste, shampoo, extra tooth brushes and two days worth of clothes, cash and a current credit card.
We have it in a duffle bag that always stays behind the middle seat in the excursion.
Another thing I do when we travel, and I only do this because of the pictures of a TT after a crash and what they look like, I put my favorite and best jewelry in a baggy and put it in my purse. The lap top goes in it's bag and goes behind the other middle seat.
I tell my daughter where all this is just in case.
