There has to be an anti-knock additive. Tetra-Ethyl lead can not be used. I don't remember what the first thing that replaced the lead was, but it turned out to be nearly as poisonous as the lead.

Didn't say. ethanol didn't replace leaded gas. Alcohol was put in gas years ago, and did no good. Was finally removed. Until touchy feely Gov officials wanted to pretend like they cared, and it was put back in. It cuts no pollution, and actually causes more, because you have to burn more of it to do what gas with out it will already do. Just another useless program we have to pay for
