When weighing the cost of ETHANOL as a fuel, don't forget that FOOD is being used as fuel while there are many who are still starving in the US and other places.
Putting Food and Fuel in competition is B.A.D. all around and prices go up for both.
Ethanol is a contaminant in gasoline. The fact it is FORCED on "free citizens" to harm and do damage to equipment and force all into <6 month consumption and ZERO long term reserve capacity...is deplorable.
IMHO, you can have it available if you want it, but more realistic non-ethanol gas should be REQUIRED at every gas station with reduced taxes.
