Ever have this happen - Campground loses water?

So I was at the Twin Grove Campground visiting a buddy of mine on Saturday. He had been there since Wednesday in one of their new cabins where the Yurts use to be. Around 6pm or so on Saturday he lost water in the cabin. Turns out the entire campground lost water.

By 10pm, when I left, water had not been restored. I imagine the RVers weren't phased, but they have a lot of cabins and bath houses that were without water. I haven't talked to my buddy to see how long the water outtage lasted..

What a nightmare the front desk must have been the next morning!

I've stayed there before in the Motorhome. It's a nice size and well maintained campground if you don't mind baking in the sun. The entire place is exposed to the sun. It has grown significantly since 2010.

Ever lose water in a campground for an extended period?

  • I've never had that problem.
Twin Grove is usually on top of their maintenance issues.
  • If the campground has a well and pump and the electricity goes out, so goes the water. We always carry water in our tank for emergencies and usually have a couple of gallon jugs of drinking water that we can use and save the empties to refill. We have always been notified of water outages before they happened so we can prepare.
  • Never had a long term outage, but at the Blue Parrot in Florida it seemed like every couple days someone would run into a hookup and they would shut everything down to fix it. Then it would be two days of boil alert. So pretty much the whole month was boil alert.
  • In our 50 plus years of camping we have run into the water being off for up to four days and elect being off for up to 7 days. It happens.

ALways good to have PLAN Bs... I carry 5-gallons of water on my truck/or trailer deck and can take this container just about anywhere and get 5-gallons of water...

    Stuff always happens haha...
