All that matters is RVW and FR both stood up tall and proud and did the right thing, and I couldn’t be happier for the OP, he would have had a different tail to tell if he were billed for an exterior wall replacement…
Like I said I think he got good service, the kind you should expect, especially with a major and costly repair on a mfg. defect, even after the warranty…
These things do happen, just not often enough…
Alpha Systems paid (except the6% sales tax) for a complete new roof on a three year old Terry Resort (because of cracking rubber) including all new wood, and I wasn’t even the original owner… how/why??? Not by ranting and raving, but selling them on the idea that their product was better than that… they will never say no it isn’t… but that was a long time ago and these are different times…
Likewise I expect a low price form a wholesaler without a lot of tire kicking, that’s their business model…
But I would like to know how these big savings are really figured… in three attempts they never beat the local dealer I was using by $4000… … I won’t say it don’t or couldn’t happen because the wholesaler was near $4000 cheaper when I called about a trailer for the DD but that wasn’t the real cost difference after delivery and state taxes…
Then to, my local dealer beat out two other local dealers by $3000 cash plus a upgraded hitch , so I guess it’s possible if you’re dealing with a not so great local dealer that you could get those savings…
mine was a factory order, so the comparisons were not only apples to apples but the same grade of apples, and buying local is still paying dividends for me every time I need something…
As for another well-known wholesaler I will never buy and pay in full, and sign a contract sight unseen on a purchase that large… that is a deal breaker for me before the start before the price is figured no matter what others think of them or their service….
