I just drive till I get tired which could be as much as 300 miles a day to as few as less than 200 miles in a day. In all of the overnights that I have stopped there has been exactly two that I drove in and drove right back out. One was in a remote area of Arkansas and it looked like it had been abandoned for years even though a lady came out from a business next door and tried to flag me down. Another was in a remote part of Texas and the rocks in the road were so large that the scraped against the bottom of the RV. Most stops are adequate for the night and some like Catherine's Landing in Arkansas are really super. YMMV
X2; we've had "average" RV parks, but never have we had one that was so bad we wouldn't go back or that we had to write a poor review about. But we take the time to research where we stay and we make reservations when we think we need them to ensure that we can stay where we want.
Some people seem to pride themselves on not making reservations. That may be fine for them, but the kinds of places we like to stay are usually busy and we often make reservations to ensure we can stay there.
