Yes you need a WD hitch. The primary function of the WD hitch is to distribute tongue weight. You need a WD hitch to distribute the TW between all axles of your combo. The WD hitch distributes weight between front and rear axles of TV. It also distributes some weight to the axles of the trailer.
Without a doubt you need a WD hitch.
