Why do so many people expect manufacturers to "do the right thing" and give them special treatment by giving them something for free after their product's warranty has expired? I frequent many differ...

I just don't get that somehow you can agree to a price and buy a product knowing it has a warranty for a certain period of time and then EXPECT coverage after that period of time. I'm not saying you shouldn't ask, but you should not expect it.
