- mrw8iExplorerWhen in a campground, which is rare since we mostly boondocks, I make sure the closest neighbor cannot hear my music. I walk around the trailer and near the sites closest to me to make sure I do not hear it. As for good and bad music, definitely depends on the listener.
My heater, if it is on, is a lot louder than my outdoor speakers.
Anyone want to talk about generators in campgrounds? Now that, I hate. - BigSkyFamilyExplorerWe use ours all the time, at a respectful volume when in a campground with close neighbors. When boondocking, which is most often, we turn it up more if we want.
The sound quality is not great, but good enough for me.
My truck has a high dollar system that can rattle every window in the campground. But I don't.
I appreciate great sound quality at high volumes. The lower quality of our trailer speakers doesn't bother me.
Quit being a bunch of grumpy old men. Life is too short to always be pissed off about stupid things like speakers on your trailer. - GoostoffExplorerLast weekend we were exposed to the battle of the outdoor speakers. One guy playing good music, and the other play really old country music. I didnt want to have to listen to either one but both of them battling it out for supremacy was over the top.
- frankdampExplorerYou may want outside speakers, but most of your CG neighbors would rather you didn't have them. We don't go to remote CG's to have to listen to whatever your particular choice of music is. Get yourself a transmitter that can send your radio signal to a wireless headset, or a personal radio with a headset.
- mrw8iExplorerLove my outside speakers. Especially when home working outside near the trailer.
- BlindGuynARExplorerSome love them and some hate them. I'm a "I don't care what you do if it doesn't bother me type" so listen to them at a respectful level and we're good.
I use mine a lot to listen to sports games.
Since I am nearly blind I have pretty good hearing though and I'd challenge anyone to hear it outside my campsite as it is tuned so low.
I can normally hear the talking at other sites over my Oklahoma Sooners football games so I know I'm not disturbing anyone.. - NYCgrrlExplorerI'd be perfectly content w/o external speakers but the man thinks the concept is the cat's meow.
I'm looking into a wireless system as the best of both worlds. - crudemanExplorer

In five years of full time camping or is it six now... I have, on ONE occasion, had a next door neighbor with outside speakers playing a radio station I actually liked and tuned in in my car... SOFTLY so even if I had not liked it it would not have been annoying.
I won't tell you the number who were loud and annoying.
WE DO NOT NEED OUTSIDE SPEAKERS.
See everywhere is different tho in eight years plus of fulltiming never ran across a issue. I still wish I had them. - pnicholsExplorer III use our RV's external speakers to listen to classical FM radio or audio CD's while out in the back yard working anywhere in the vicinity of where we park the RV.
Why not ... beats using another device for this when around home? Winnebago mounted our external speakers, external DVD player, an external TV connection, and a 120V/12V receptacle in a sunken-in box behind one of their standard lockable and sealed external hinged doors. - ken56ExplorerI don't understand the need for constant noise some people seem to need. Just like people that get on their cell phone as they are getting into their car.... they just can't be alone I suppose, and when they are they need a radio to comfort their anxiety, providing the illusion of someone with them. Quiet is so under rated. I worked in an industrial environment for 32 yrs. and I value my quiet, and peace, and fresh air while I am camping. I just wish more good folks would too.
