Frontal area is a huge factor whether it's printed in the manual or not the effects will be there.
A boat, or flat bed trailer will tow much easier than an RV or large frontal area trailer.
The physics and aerodynamics are always in play. Ford is simply trying to make the end user aware of the frontal area factor.
