Fantastic Fan vs Max Air

Just put a brand new FF in my TT. Motor has a chirping sound like a high speed cricket. FF sent a new motor and it does the same thing. Now the rain sensor quit.

Is the Max Air any better?

  • I have a shurflow brand fan that made a quick chirping noise when new. I called them and was told it was the brushes and it would quiet down with use. I left the fan on for 24 hours and the noise was significantly quieter. That was years ago. The fan is nice and quiet now and continues work great.
  • the max aire with the shroud that moves the fan blade to the rear and pointing down doesn't need a "rain sensor" etc. and can be run in the rain. much better than FF.

  • I had the same problem with the Maxx air I had in my old TT. Maxx air sent me a kit to fix it free of charge and I found that the fan was hitting on the housing. but in all fairness, I have had both and liked them both.
  • Have 3 FFs and every time I've heard that chirping noise it has been a foreign object (like a bug or small stick) caught in the housing somewhere or the fan touching the housing.
