I stopped at McDonalds today - first time in a long time and they have many choices for $1, $2, $3.

When we're driving, I prefer to eat just a grilled chicken sandwich from DQ or Chick-fil-a, fills me right up. Of course that's still around $4-5. We only drink water or iced tea that we carry with us in reusable bottles, saves us a couple bucks. Man, do they charge for drinks.

We both try to avoid fries. But Culver's up here has good crinkle fries and she loves them. Don't even put salt on them, they're already salty.

Fast food just isn't good for us anymore. Maybe ok for you, that's your choice. When I sold my minivan, we found a couple of McD's fries from 3 years prior. They looked and smelled the same as new. Just seemed ... wrong. Stopped eating there. :P

I know there not many of them but Del Taco is MILES better than Taco Bell for only a small additional charge.

The Seven-Eleven 1/4 lb hot dog is not bad, occasionally.

"Best bang for the buck, is the Costco Hot Dog and Soda for $1.50. Not exactly "fast", but cheap.

In MA the minimum wage is $11, will be $12 in 2019, working it's way up to $15 after 5 years.

So it's something like a 9% increase which I'm sure is already or shortly will be reflected in the prices.

The Junior burgers at Burger King are plenty. We don't get drinks at any type of restaurant - just water.

We usually drink water when eating out also because drink prices are ridiculous, but some places offer Sr drinks which maybe smaller but if refills are available it’s no big deal. Whataburger offers them and they are free. They charge for a kids drink and ten give a discount for the same amount. They say it can't be done with a combo but we found one lady who knew how to do it, but no big deal as we usually just get a burger any way... Less than $10 for the two of us

It seems restaurant meals start at 15 bucks and that is a plate of fish and chips. A fast food burger with fries and a drink easily runs 10-12 bucks. A local small town pub puts out good food for a reasonable price but prices 15 miles away in a larger center have gone stupid, trouble is the labor market is tight and good staff has to be paid well. Lots of work available if they were only willing to get off their adzz, get training and show up but that's a rant for another day.

I WILL say that fried chicken has gotten out of hand.

I know, shouldn’t eat it anyway but it sure is good.
