Have you talked to Standens? they do this kind of stuff all the time, I may need to do something about mine too. mine was a bit high with the '09 truck and now my '12 is a bit higher again.
I wonder if it would be ok to use springs with more arch? maybe not with the side loads experienced on a trailer.
High arched spring packs and suspension blocks are something that the axle manufacturer or trailer manufacturer do not offer ... for good reasons. Your right about side loads tho as side loads on trailer axles as the tires slide sideways around a corner eliminates conventional truck or car suspension tech as we know it. Apples vs oranges. Now if our trailers had wheels at the corners like a truck then that technology could apply.
IMO the sub frame as mentioned or longer thicker spring shackle plates with adjustable holes like some factory OEM come with will be a less stressful approach on the axle innards/tires/wheels and main frame rails above the spring hangers.
